Second California Adaptation Forum Registration Now Open

Our friends at the California Adaptation Forum have announced that registration for their Second Annual event is now open. The event will be held in conjunction with the 2016 California Climate Change Symposium, and will take place on September 7 & 8 in Long Beach. A number of speakers and workshops will be held by and for business and community leaders working to secure a sustainable and adaptive future for California and its nearly 40 million residents.

This Year's National Week of Making is Upon Us

Last year, President Obama's office released a missive declaring a National Week of Making; this week marks the second annual commemoration thereof. The President wrote:

Makers and builders and doers — of all ages and backgrounds — have pushed our country forward, developing creative solutions to important challenges and proving that ordinary Americans are capable of achieving the extraordinary when they have access to the resources they need.

Our Visit to Girls Day at the Tech: Everybody Makes!

I learn about Teenforce’s programs while wearing the Body Metrics gear. It felt very borg-like… in a good way!

This past Saturday, the Tech Museum of Innovation and Design held the first of its Girls Day at the Tech events for 2016, with the theme "Everybody Makes!” These events are designed to help expose all children—but specifically girls—to opportunities and role models in STEM fields.

Girls Day at the Tech, May 7: Everybody Makes!

As you may have seen in a previous post to this blog, Abe Farag Family Foundation is a proud sponsor of San Jose's Tech Museum of Innovation and their "Girls Days at the Tech" events.
