Last year, President Obama's office released a missive declaring a National Week of Making; this week marks the second annual commemoration thereof. The President wrote:
Makers and builders and doers — of all ages and backgrounds — have pushed our country forward, developing creative solutions to important challenges and proving that ordinary Americans are capable of achieving the extraordinary when they have access to the resources they need.
We believe that our world will be increasingly affected by the Maker Movement in the future, as small-run manufacturing makes possible a number of products and objects which have never been feasible to manufacture on a mass scale. It's great to see the President's office supporting this vision of a better, more creative future.
