Marine Science Institute: Discovering San Francisco Bay

AFFF is proud to support the Marine Science Institute, a non-profit whose mission consists of giving students direct access to San Francisco Bay:

Prior to 1970, no bridge existed between environmental concerns and education in the San Francisco Bay area. Few opportunities existed for students to get hands-on experience with the flora and fauna of San Francisco Bay. As one Bay Area professor remarked at the time, "On a clear day we can see the Bay, but there is no way for my students to get their hands wet--in real water."

Offering programs to both schools and families, MSI offers opportunities to discover the Bay itself, to explore tide pools at Pillar Point on the San Mateo coast, and lots of other great programs for students interested in marine sciences.
