PiE works with parents, the school district, and the community to give all students the best education possible. They are the district’s essential partner in providing support and enrichment opportunities that help every child receive a well-rounded, fulfilling education from PAUSD. PiE distributes funds on an equal per-pupil basis at each school level throughout the district.
As a Basic Aid district in California, the Palo Alto Unified School District receives little extra funding from the state. PiE dollars now represent 68% of the flexible funding available to principles to spend on enrichment opportunities.
By using these funds to establish programs like classroom aides, counseling, arts, music, and science in all the elementary schools, the PAUSD is able to provide the highest level of education for its students.
