The Riekes Center

About the Organization

The Riekes Center provides each student with the best possible opportunity to define and accomplish individual goals, build character and learn transferable life skills through Creativity, Fitness and Ecology, in an environment of non-judgment and mutual respect.

By learning-through-doing in a social environment. Maker culture, like the Riekes Center, emphasizes informal, networked, peer-led, and shared learning motivated by fun and self-fulfillment.

The Riekes Center exists for the enhancement of the individual student and seeks to expand offerings into the Maker Culture through a new Maker Lab.
The Riekes Center provides opportunities regardless of the student’s ability to pay, or ability to perform. Each person’s uniqueness and potential is celebrated. The Riekes Center thrives on providing transformational outcomes for 5000 students annually.

Abe Farag Family Foundation Awardee: Maker Lab Computer Upgrade

The Riekes Center will upgrade their computer lab to expand their traditional Creative Arts and Community Service programming and include Maker culture offerings. Their students can use the new computers, OpenSpace3D software and other design programs in conjunction with the University of Santa Clara’s Mobile Maker Lab to build practical skills and apply them to Riekes Member designs.
